A few tips in Preparation for the SAT
(visit www.collegeboard.com for more)

  • Begin your preparation well in advance.timer
  • In order to receive accommodations for the SAT, you need to complete a “Student Eligibility Form” at www.collegeboard.com or from your school counselor.
  • Remember the same accommodations used in class should be used during testing.
  • You must have had accommodations in place for at least 6 months [on IEP or 504 Plan] in order to be eligible to receive accommodations during SAT testing.
  • If you are denied accommodations, DO NOT BE AFRAID TO APPEAL the decision.
  • Remember that the SAT is NOT the only factor for college admission
  • Take advantage of the College Board Question and Answer Service. For $24, they will return your corrected SAT test. For students who test with accommodations, the Question and Answer Service is available during the May testing period. You can get more information at www.collegeboard.com.
pencil and book Suggested college prep reading (not available from RFB&D):
