Educational Outreach Director Named in 1999 for New Jersey Unit of Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic
Christine D. Ranaghan was recently named to the newly created position of Educational Outreach Director for the New Jersey Unit of Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic (RFB&D).
Ranaghan, a Warren County resident, will be working with and informing parents and teachers throughout the state of the benefits of using the organizations recorded textbooks. She has experience in marketing, public relations and management, and is a former teacher licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Her most recent position was as the Executive Coordinator for Essex County for Hospice of New Jersey.
In addition, Ranaghan has a personal connection to RFB&D. Her daughter, Samantha, currently a junior majoring in communications at The College of St. Elizabeth, is dyslexic and has been a borrower of the organizations recorded books since 1990. Ranaghan has "seen the personal benefits of what RFB&D can do."
The New Jersey Unit of RFB&D, headquartered in Princeton, oversees two recording studios in the state, which employ the talents of nearly 500 skilled volunteers who help record and instruct in the use of recorded textbooks.
