Dr. Eric Maskin, professor at the Institute of Advanced Studies and game theory expert read from A Beautiful Mind by Sylvia Nasar. Eric Maskin has worked in many areas of economic theory, including game theory, the economics of incentives, and social choice theory. His current projects involve designing auctions, comparing different electoral rules such as majority voting, understanding the role of monetary policy, and studying the advantages and drawbacks of protecting intellectual property.

The following letter was sent to New Jersey newspapers:
The spirit of volunteerism is thriving in the Princeton area as witnessed by the success of the New Jersey Unit of Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic's (RFB&D) 2002 Record-A-Thon. During the week of April 22-27 more than 400 volunteers recorded 500 hours of educational material for individuals who cannot effectively read standard print because of visual impairment, learning disability or other physical disability.
Our staff and dedicated core of volunteers would particularly like to thank the event's lead sponsor, Nassau Broadcasting as well as booth sponsor Boston Properties and book sponsor Fleet Bank for their generous assistance in helping students who are learning through listening. Along with their financial donation, Nassau Broadcasting promoted the event on WPST and members of its popular Wake-up Crew volunteered to read texts as well. Employees of Fleet also generously donated their time.
The volunteers were nourished and rewarded by generous donations of food and other gifts by the American Diner, Bucks County Coffee, Carlucci's, Charlie Brown's, Flower Market, Hoagie Haven, La Terrazza, Landau's, Lenscrafter, Main Street Grille, McCaffrey's, McCarter Theater, Nassau Street Seafood, The New York Deli, Obal's, Pathmark, P.J.'s Pancake House, Princeton U-Store, Shop Rite, Sovereign Bank, Sunny Garden, Smith & Hawken, United Artists, Wegman's, Wild Oats and Witherspoon Street Bakery.
